Planning and tracking with CGPA

FirstClass AI is the CGPA tab: your grades, your target, and the tools that work out whether you'll get there — a personalised advisor and study buddy, screen by screen.

1. First run — telling it who you are

The first time you open CGPA, it asks what stage you're at. The answer changes what the tab shows you, so it's worth getting right — an undergraduate gets CGPA tracking and a graduation forecast, while a fresh graduate gets career-facing tools instead.

A five-step tour follows. Skip at the top right dismisses it — the tab underneath is already usable, and you can reopen the tour from the FAQ.

2. The Academic Overview

The top of the tab answers one question: where are you, and where are you trying to get to.

Plan and Track Studies home with Academic Overview, Study Tools and Ultimate Features
Three numbers side by side, then your course counts.
  • Current CGPA — what your completed courses actually add up to.
  • Potential CGPA — where you'd land if your ongoing courses go as well as they currently look.
  • Target CGPA — the figure you set yourself. Everything else is measured against it.

Below that: how many courses you're tracking, how many are ongoing, how many are done, and your credit units earned against the total your programme requires.

Nothing here is guessed. These figures come from courses you enter yourself. An empty tab is an empty tab — it doesn't invent a starting CGPA for you.

3. Courses and grades

Manage Courses is where the numbers come from. Add each course with its code, title and credit units, then record the grade when it's done.

The overview leads with the gap — the distance between where you are and your target — because that's the number that decides what you need from the courses ahead.

Academic Profile, next to it on the home screen, is where you set the frame: programme length, total credit units required, start date and your target CGPA. Set this before adding courses and the tracker can tell you whether you're on schedule as well as on grade.

4. Logging study time

Grades tell you the outcome. Study sessions tell you the effort — and the analytics have nothing to work with until you record some.

Study Session screen offering Start Live Study or Log Past Session
Two ways in. Start Live Study runs a timer that keeps counting even if you close the app. Log Past Session records something you've already done.
Study Analytics empty state explaining what unlocks once sessions are logged
Study Analytics before you've logged anything. It tells you plainly what it will show once there's data, rather than displaying an empty chart.
Log as you go. A live timer you start and forget is more accurate than a session you reconstruct on Sunday evening, and the patterns the analytics look for — time of day, session length, which courses you avoid — only mean something if the entries are honest.

5. CGPA Predictor

The forecasting tool. It takes your current standing and works forwards: whether you're on track for the degree class you want, and what each remaining course does to the total.

Current standing at the top with your classification, then the Graduation Tracker — credits earned against your programme total, with an on-track badge — and a per-course performance chart.

6. Scheduler, analytics and Holiday Advisor

The Ultimate Features list: CGPA Predictor, Study Scheduler, Ultimate Analytics, and Holiday Advisor
The rest of the toolkit, plus Holiday Advisor with its own toggle.
  • Study Scheduler — builds a personalised timetable around your courses.
  • Ultimate Analytics — learning-style analysis and behavioural patterns, once there are enough sessions to read.
  • Holiday Advisor — switch Holiday mode on when term ends and the tab turns to career preparation and job-market tips built around the courses you've taken.
Study Scheduler empty state with a Create Study Schedule button
The Scheduler before you've made one.
Recently Added Courses sits at the bottom of the tab as a shortcut — tap the pencil to jump straight back into editing a course you've just entered.
