4 Ways to Compete
Arena now features 4 leaderboards, giving you multiple ways to compete and prove yourself:
- 🌍 Global Leaderboard: Compete worldwide for the $200 USD prize pool every half-season (top 5 players share, awarded quarterly). Seasons run every 6 months with prizes at mid-season and end of season.
- 🇳🇬 National Leaderboard: See how you rank against other players in Nigeria.
- 🏫 Schools Leaderboard: School vs school rankings. Top 3 schools share the ₦1,000,000 prize pool — 12 total winners!
- 👥 My School: Compete with classmates within your own school. Who's the smartest in your class?
Settle Famous Rivalries
West African universities have legendary rivalries. Now you can settle them with knowledge instead of banter:
🇳🇬 UNILAG vs LASU
Lagos bragging rights
🇬🇭 UG vs KNUST
Ghana's classic rivalry
🇸🇱 Fourah Bay vs Njala
Sierra Leone's finest
🌍 UNILAG vs UG
Cross-country clash
It's not just universities — secondary schools, polytechnics, and all types of colleges can compete. Secondary schools have their own dedicated ₦300,000 prize pool in addition to competing in the main pool! Recent alumni (graduated on or after January 1, 2021) can also represent their alma mater — whether you completed an undergraduate degree, HND, MBA, PhD, or any other programme. You choose which school to represent. Every institution has a chance to prove they have the smartest students.
Important Notes
One-Time Launch Campaign: As currently planned, the ₦1,600,000 prize pool is a special one-time launch campaign for schools in Nigeria, Ghana, and Sierra Leone, ending May 31, 2026. This includes ₦1,000,000 for top 3 schools, ₦300,000 for secondary schools, and ₦300,000 for Campus Ambassadors. However, if we see sufficient interest or sponsors, we may continue the prize competition in future seasons with varying prize amounts.
Season 1 Countries: Nigeria, Ghana, and Sierra Leone. Coming in Season 2: Kenya, Liberia, and Uganda!
Campus Ambassadors: Register as your school's Campus Ambassador and win up to ₦150,000 if your school takes 1st place! Apply here →
Global Prize Continues: The $200 USD Global prize for top 5 individual players is awarded quarterly (every half-season), worldwide. For Season 1: end of Feb 2026 and end of May 2026.
Ghana & Sierra Leone: Prizes will be converted to local currency (GH₵ or Le) at prevailing exchange rates. Actual amounts may vary based on exchange rate fluctuations.
Note: Season 1 has been extended to 6 months (ending May 31, 2026). Many new users shared that the original timeline was too tight for them to have a fighting chance, and we also experienced delays with Android and iOS app store approvals taking longer than anticipated. Going forward, all seasons will run for 6 months: December to May, and June to November.
